The American Soccer League Expansion Gains Traction
With the recent offering of initial franchise fees being waived, ownership groups from around the country are in talks about having their own professional soccer club. The interest has grown significantly since the ASL released its plans to expand south and across the country.
ASL CEO Matt Driver states, "Many of these organizations are looking to take the next step from playing amateur soccer to creating professional playing opportunities for their players. There has also been interest from foreign groups from Brazil, Spain and England to be a part of what we are doing at the ASL. I find that extremely exciting as some of these groups see the benefit of being a part of the professional player developing surge here in the USA."
More than 50 groups from across the country have reached out to discuss the possibilities of having their own Professional Soccer Franchise.
Mr. Driver adds, "We are in serious discussions with ten groups and are continuing to pre-qualify the groups as they express interest. It is important for us to focus on each region, building it in a way that geographically makes sense."
Those groups are in the following areas:
Ft Lauderdale, Florida
Coral Springs, Florida
The ASL has a "Turn Key Operations" approach and has a dedicated full time front office which specializes in assisting the clubs with ongoing registration and administrative responsibilities. Along with the front office perks, each ASL Franchise will see benefits and revenue streams in the following areas:
National and Worldwide Sponsorship Opportunities
Increased Marketing and Amplified Branding
International Tours Youth, Adult & Professional
Player Evaluation Tools (EPX2)
Technology & Software Perks
Coaching Development Partnerships
ASL Commissioner Dan Trainor adds, "I am extremely proud of our sponsors that share the vision of the ASL and want to help us expand our footprint. In my 30 plus years participating in soccer I have never seen groups like these that stepped forward in this manner. Our existing and future teams will benefit from this opportunity and we can't wait to see what the future holds."
